1961 Honda CA95 Benly
The 1961 Honda Benly really is a unique restoration story that the Motovida team has been honoured to be a part of. Originally, the bike belonged to the client’s brother-in-law, who recently passed away, and the project was undertaken in his memory.
The bike had been purchased new and over the years it introduced many family members to the joy of riding. However, as often happens, the Benly eventually sat, forgotten on the family’s property in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
Years of neglect had taken their toll: a seized engine and extensive rust required that virtually every component be refinished or replaced.
Replacement parts were extremely challenging to find and the restoration, which had already taken the better part of a year, was in jeopardy until the rare size of the classic whitewall tires were finally sourced.
Consequently, the Benly was particularly gratifying to unveil to the grateful family members who remembered riding it through the quiet streets of Sault Ste. Marie when it was new.
